Who and how to participate ?

Everyone can join!
All citizens are invited to impressive presentations about the vast groundwater system, the dynamics and life in it, related research projects, exploration diving and the important help they can contribute in the public monitoring.

Everyone who wants to participate actively in the monitoring is invited to short courses and practical exercises providing basic knowledge and skills to do simple on-site water analysis with commercially available testing kits as used for aquariums.

We will learn how to measure important water parameters and what they tell about the waters 'health and vitality'. Everyone older than 10 can do it.

You learn how to measure properly temperature, water level, salt content, el. conductivity, acidity, as well important concentration of substances and elements as nitrate, phosphate which indicate agricultural fertilizers and wastewater stress.
Some teams may also measure samples taken by cave divers or the seawater or read out video data of a laser camera installed in an under water cave, where you also can see the secret life of an Xibalba underwater cave - the veins of the groundwater system.
